Mobile Browsers That Are Better Than Chrome.
If you are reading this than
that means you have at least given a thought or have make up your mind to ditch
your beloved browser and get into a new relationship. Forgetting your ex isn’t
an easy task you have to delete all those memories, all those moments that you
have cherished together, but what if you find someone better than your ex?
Google chrome is literally a
synonym for so many people for surfing the internet and why not. The whole eco
system that Google offers is quite irresistible and you can’t ignore the fact
that websites works better and load faster on Chrome than any other browser out
there. While it doesn’t make a huge difference for so many people, but you have
to admit that you have invested yourself into the Google eco system quite heavily,
from Gmail to Chrome to Android Google is everywhere and it tries to seamlessly
provide us the service that eases our day to day workings.
In the past few years we
have seen that the so called technology giants that promise us to protect our
privacy and protect the user’s data have failed us miserably. Whether it is
Facebook or Google, all have shattered the users trust related to data handling
and privacy and as a result they are facing the respective lawsuit that’s going
to cost those billions of dollars. See that is what your data is worth of!!
While there is no denying from the fact that these technology giants track the
users both online and offline and doesn’t give a damn about user’s privacy
there are some tech companies which have flourished under the banner of providing
the complete privacy to their users.
Google chrome is a god damn
freaking awesome browser and there’s no other browser out there if you consider
the fact that Google is trying hard to put it way ahead of the competition and
adding tons and tons of features. But there are some really good web browsers
out there that you must try and use if you think about the privacy and want a
new experience. Here are some browsers that are more or less better that Google
Chrome and respect the user’s privacy.
1. Brave
“You Are Not A Product” this
browser have garnered a different fan base of those people who loves to remain
anonymous on the web and want some privacy into their digital life. Brave is
browser that is been built by the Inventor of JavaScript and co-founder of
Mozilla. Brave is started as an answer to the ad blocking and user tracking
protection and it does so quite effectively.
The UI of the browser is
built upon the keep it simply philosophy and you don’t see any cluttered
interface, in fact the moment you open the app it doesn’t ask for any specific permission
like most browsers do. On the main screen you see some stats like how many ads
or trackers it has blocked till now and other details. In the setting menu you
don’t see anything fancy, but the biggest highlight of the browser that privacy
focused people would find is, you can choose which search engine you want for
both standard tab and private tab and unlike Google Chrome it offers you so
many option to choose from. You can set different search engine for both your
standard tab and private tab effortlessly.
Apart from this the browser
offers all the basic things that you would look for in a browser like option to
save in passwords for logging or address. The browser offers synchronization
between all your devices so that you can have all your bookmarks saved on one
device available to other device, however it is still in beta stage so you
might see some syncing issues. The browser blocks all the ads and trackers by
default so that you enjoy your browsing experience and don’t get bothered by
those website ads. Overall it’s a nice browser and you can rely on it for your
day to day use.
2. Firefox
How come someone not mention
Firefox by Mozilla when we talk about browsers whether it be mobile or web.
Mozilla Firefox is web browser that’s going to give you a seamless experience across
all the platforms and is built upon the core principle of “Fast for good”.
The UI of the browser is
kept simple and it will greet you by asking no permissions unlike Google Chrome
that asks for so many permission the moment you start the app. It offers tons
of settings whether it is related to privacy or notifications. However the
biggest highlight of the browser is its ability to let you install add-ons.
Yes! You heard it right the same add-ons that make a web experience much much
better on desktop; you can access those add-ons on your mobile too. It offers
so many add-ons to chose and install from however not all the add-ons are customized
according to mobile but you’ll love the fact that you are in control as to
which add-ons you’d like to add and remove. Apart from the basic functionality
that other browsers offers Mozilla Firefox offers that too extensively and
never let you feel that you have made a wrong decision shifting from Google
Chrome.
3. DuckDuckGo
“Install and You are good to
Go” that should be the tagline of this ultra minimalistic super easy to use
browser. No cluttered interface and no fancy settings. The biggest highlight of
this super easy to use browser is that it offers you a direct option to commit
digital suicide of your browsing history. It offers you an option clicking on
which all your browsing history your saved bookmarks for the current session
will get deleted and you’ll become a clean slate. A great option for the hustle
wherein you have to go to settings and delete browsing history one by one. While
the above mentioned browsers gives you the option to enable or disable certain
features like ad blocking and tracking protection, this browser lacks behind
and you are left with no option but to use it as a default feature.
It offers no other fancy settings
like add-ons and accessibility settings to change the font. But it does tell
you something about the site the moment you visit one, it tells you it’s
overall rating and how it has enhanced the site for better tracking protection
and whether it is encrypted or not. This browser works like a magic if don’t want
any fancy things, but if you are still obsessed with the things then you have
to look at something else like Chrome or Firefox or Brave.
While the above mentioned
browsers are great for your day to day use, there are some other browsers out
there that offer curated news within the browsers like Chrome. UC browser is great
option but it is cluttered with so many options that eventually you would end
up disliking it for offering too many unnecessary things; Opera is also a great
option but more or less faces the same privacy issue. Feel free to try
something new and do comment below whether you are making a shift to a new
browser or not.
