How To Check Whether You Can Vote Or Not If Having a Voter ID Card: India.

Voting and elections are very important part of a democracy, and for country like India which is world's largest democratic country it is far more important. With the general elections and state elections approaching in the coming months, it is important to check whether your name is on electoral rolls or not despite of having a voter ID card. Voter ID card is a must to vote in the elections but your name have to have on electoral rolls if you want your precious vote to be counted. However with the digital push it is now very easy to check online whether you can caste your vote or not.

If you want to vote in elections whether it be state or general elections you must have a voter ID card issued by the Election Commission of India and your name must be on the electoral rolls. You can check this via your EPIC number or without EPIC number also. 

1. First visit the National Voters Service Portal search page.

2. There you will see two options. Search by EPIC and search by Details.

3. If you have your EPIC no. with you just enter the required details and your EPIC no. and it will fetch the results. If your name is on the electoral rolls you'll see your name mentioned below.

4. If you opt in to search via Details then you have to fill in the required information and then you can check whether or not your name is on the list or not.
