Facebook Exposed Millions Of Passwords To Its Employees.
Ever since the Cambridge analytica data scandal Facebook's reputation is seeing a steep downfall. It looks like the social networking site is just a large database of personal information that is playing with the users privacy, considering them just a product.
Facebook allowed its employees to have a full authorized access to view hundreds of millions of user account passwords that were stored in plain text. Wtf! Facebook not only saved the passwords in plain text but also allowed it's employees to access those without any consent.
This blunder was discovered by a journalist named Brian Krebs who published a report on Thursday stating the privacy breach of hundreds of millions of users. However after the report was published Facebook published a blog accepting that this blunder dates back to January and all of it's users data is safe and Facebook soon will prompt users to change their password for both Facebook and Instagram.
Facebook however said that no internal employee have improperly accessed or have misused passwords stored in plain text. Its hard to believe any words of Facebook these days, since the company is on a roll to shake the trust of its users. It looks like a never ending cycle for facebook for doing goof-ups.
If you hate changing your passwords then hate yourself and do that again for your Facebook account and Instagram account. Till next time stay safe, stay connected and stay updated.
