Paytm Tap Card. Your Offline Payment Solution.

While the government is making continuous effort to digitize the financial transaction, there's one company that is fully dedicated to uplift the government's vision but in it's own style. Paytm wants to be the only solution for you when you think of digital payments, well that's seems like a big dream but the recent effort of the company has definitely lead it to one step closer. In a big push towards digital payment Paytm has introduced Paytm Tap Card. And the company is promoting it as the India's first truly offline payment solution.

What is Paytm Tap Card?

Paytm Tap Card is a NFC enabled card that has been developed in partnership with Yeldi.com, which is a digital payment company, focusing on NFC (Near Field Communication). With the help of this card you'll be able to make payments at any merchant outlet, without using the Internet. Cool!!

How Does It Work?

1. Just Like you load the balance on your Paytm wallet, the same way you can also fill up you Paytm tap card by scanning the QR code of his/her Paytm tap card.

2. Once you have your Paytm tap card filled up with cash you can start shopping, once you are done with the shopping all you have to do is just  scan your Paytm Tap Card at Add Value Machines (AVM) at the merchant, which uses NFC mechanism or NFC enabled POS (Point Of Sales) machine to extract the payment.   

3. Hence, without using the internet at any point, the payment is transferred.

As per Paytm, it will take just 0.5 seconds to make any payment, using this NFC-based Paytm Tap Card. Also the company states that it has already taken care of the possible difficulties that a user or merchant might face during transaction.

"We are aggressively pushing digital payments to users from every walk of life. There are a large number of people who at times do not have access to the Internet or they have a limited daily budget so they shy away from using online payments. For them, we offer the Paytm Tap Card to enable seamless offline payments. For ensuring a wider acceptance, we are also reaching out to the merchants and are actively enabling them with NFC PoS terminals to accept payments without Tap Card. This is a true testimony of our commitment to understanding the needs of our users and creating innovative solutions around it," said Kiran Vasireddy, COO of Paytm.   

It's still not known when the company will roll out this on mass basis and the card would be free of cost or will be available on paid basis, or the cash limit that you can load in your card.
