Xiaomi Browser Spies On Your Incognito Activities

Xiaomi is India's number one smartphone company and enjoys a large number of the loyal user base. The affordable pricing strategy has helped Xiaomi in getting no.1 spot in the Indian smartphone market that was once ruled by Samsung. But Xioami has been under the radar for its notorious activities from quite some time. Whether it is spying on the user activities or sending the data back to China server, Xiaomi has done it all and accepted none.

Recently it was discovered that the company spies the online activity of the user even in incognito mode. Soon after the allegation Xiaomi spokesperson denied the claims and ensured that Xiaomi follows tight security protocols and do not spy on the user activities. But recently Xiaomi has released an update for its browser (Mi browser, Mint browser, Mi browser pro) that raises the question of whether Xiaomi ever going to accept the fault or not? If you own a Xiaomi smartphone or using Mi browser app on any Android device then you should enable this new privacy setting ASAP.

Xiaomi has released the update for the Mi Browser/Mi Browser Pro (v12.1.4) and Mint Browser (v3.4.3). The new settings allow the users to disable aggregated data collection feature while in Incognito Mode. You can change the setting by tapping the settings icon in the browser > Incognito mode settings > and disable 'Enhanced incognito mode'. While Xiaomi claims that it does so for improving the user experience and serve them better, but it is nothing more than bullshit.

The Mint browser and Mi browser pro have been downloaded more than 15 million times from Google Play and that is a lot of data. It looks like the cheap smartphone strategy came with a little surprise. Till next time stay safe stay connected and stay updated.
