Facebook On The Footsteps Of Microsoft

It looks like the Facebook is following the footsteps of Microsoft to woo the developer community, it’s employees and the users.  Facebook may started off as an social networking platform but over a period of time it has transformed into something else. According to a report Facebook is quietly working on a project which would go by the name NPE Team, LLC. NPE stands for New Product Experimentation. The whole concept is very similar to that of Microsoft garage, Here the teams or developers would release an experimental app for the public under developer name and than will collect the data and feedback for the same and will make changes accordingly, These apps will be released on multiple platforms like Android, iOS or even web app. If any of those experimental apps garner a positive response from the users it will release it officially afterwards.

Though the concept sounds very familiar that of Microsoft, Facebook will find it difficult because of the reputation it has in privacy front. Facebook did mentioned that  it will collect the users data and handle it accordingly, and also notify users of their data and what to do with them in case a app doesn’t get officially released and shut off.  Facebook hasn’t released any app yet so it would be a wait and watch what Facebook comes up with for its first app.
