A friend in need is a friend indeed. This phrase always kept reminding us of who our true friends are. But what if someone is serving his time in jail and you actually does something that land you in there as well?

Let me share with you a mind boggling Hollywood movie script, One person is convicted of some crime and currently serving his term in jail and his friend tried to hack the jail computer system so that his friend can be released early, but instead of that he get caught up and put behind the bars to give some company to his friend. No matter what it may sound like but this actually happened.

A 27-year-old Michigan man hacked into the government computer system of Washtenaw County Jail to alter inmate (Friend) records so that his friend can be released early but now, he himself is facing federal charges after getting caught.

Konrads Voits of Ypsilanti, Michigan, is the one convicted to seven years and three months in prison for attempting to hack the Washtenaw County Jail computer system and modifying prison records to get his friend released early. 

What he does is used some phishing technique, social engineering techniques and convinced them into installing a malware into the system. Later he obtained the remote login information of one of the Jail employees and used that information to install malware on the County's network and gained access to the main system.

Gaining access to this system eventually allowed Voits to steal jail records of several inmates, search warrant affidavits and personal details, including passwords, usernames, and email addresses. But things did not work as Voits wanted them to, and he get caught when some employees noticed the unusual activity and alerted the FBI.

This incident also shows how vulnerable the humans are in the security process. It'll definitely be an example, needs to be reminded of.
