The Next Big Thing?
Have
you ever thought of inventions like water ATM’s, wireless charging technology,
wearable gadgets, internet connected bulbs? Ever wondered how far we have
reached in technological advancements? Someone at some interval of time had
just thought about this and that is the reason why this technological
advancements exist today. The whole point is to understand, from where we
started and how far we have reached and where we will be in the next 5 years.
Television took nearly more than 20 years to become popular, Smartphone took
just half of half of that. Today the technology we use was just a concept few
years before, every 8 out of 10 people have smartphone today, and almost every
9 out of 10 person have a television sets. The point is what next? What we need
next? How we make the next big thing? Answers are there we just need to build
up a question!
IoT
(Internet of Things) is a current big thig in the technology. Just imagine your
home appliances from fan to cooker everything can be controlled over internet.
It is still in the development stage but steps are been taken in this
direction. Recently internet connects bulbs, fan, Ac’s, home temperature
controlling devices, security devices are been launched for this IoT. It is
going to be very different from the internet, because for Internet connected
devices we will be having a whole new eco system. But the question still
remains as what should be the next big thing? All of us today uses smartphone,
portable charger, some uses the smartwatch also. But imagine that in near
future we all be having the smart glasses, smartphone, smart cloth, smart
watches and many more things for the betterment of our lives, but one thing
that isn’t going to be smart is the need for charging all those things.

Marty
Cooper the inventor of the first handheld cell phone said that his
revolutionary invention has one big flaw of charging it always. Keeping your
phone charger always with you is a real annoyance and it is going to be an
increasing problem. However steps are been taken to solve the problem of
charging your wireless device but it’s not up to the mark. Like there been the
wireless charging dock but in order to charge you have to put your smartphone
on it. But some companies are working harder in this field and coming up with
different solutions like Wi-Charge thinks lasers should beam signals from
ceiling fixtures to cell phones. U-Beam has bet on powering phones with
smartphone. Just imagine a single device plugged in your house somewhere
powering all your wireless device. Cool!! Isn’t it!! But there’s a one company
which have taken this too far that is Energous. The company have already made
miniature transmitter, which can power specially equipped gadgets. The
Miniature “WattUp” transmitter can power hearing aids, medical devices and
other tiny wireless devices. But It only includes very small gadgets that have
embedded chips that are compatible with Energous' technology. And those gadgets
need to be in direct contact with the Miniature WattUp transmitter. Humavox is
another company which is looking at
similarly short ranges as existing wireless standards, but rather than large
metal coils, the company’s technology uses a small integrated circuit to handle
the power transfer and conversion, allowing for some discrete implementations. Might
be the next big thing?

Similarly like the wireless charging technology there been
many new innovations coming up like Virtual reality, augmented reality,
Pre-touch technology. Below is a glimpse of the Pre-Touch technology by the
Microsoft. Hope you find it interesting. If you like it share it, love it, and
one more thing we together have crossed 500 views mark for all the post. Thanks
